The series of illustration is about one of the most famous Qing Dynasty stories in China. The story was about the opulence yet tragic life of Zhenhuan, a concubine of the emperor Yongzheng. She then became the Empress Dowager after emperor Yongzheng died.

Her Return (image on the right) illustrates her return from the temple, where she was sent to for punishment of her disobedience.

The Faithful Encounter (image on the right) illustrates her encounter to the emperor for the first time. What she didn't know at the time was that her later secret lover, also the brother of the emperor, was there as well.

The Butterfly Effect Masterpiece (image below) illustrates Zhenhuan being accused by another concubine in front of the emperor that her son is not the emperor's son but her lover's, which is true. Though she managed to prove herself innocent, due to butterfly effect, this incident then caused her best friend's death in childbirth. This incident also changed a lot of people' destiny, including the fall of the empress.
